Malinda Berry Fischer’s Oklahoma State University ties go back to her grandmother, the second woman to graduate from Oklahoma A&M College in 1898. Mrs. Fischer also graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in secondary education before acquiring a degree from Harvard Business School.

Wanting to give back to OSU, this alumna and savvy businesswoman, along with her husband, Dick Fischer, maximized their investment by contributing to OSU while Mr. T. Boone Pickens was offering a match. Once matched by Mr. Pickens and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, their gift resulted in $1 million in endowed funds towards the Thomas E. Berry Professorship in Water Research and Management. Malinda Berry Fischer and her husband, Dick Fischer, created this endowed professorship in honor of her father, an innovative oil man and farmer who understood the importance of water quality and conservation.

Having served in various capacities as a community volunteer, Interim President and CEO of the OSU Foundation, and active member in foundations and clubs, Mrs. Fischer continues to give back to her community and is currently President of Marietta Royalty Company and Chairperson of Thomas N. Berry & Company, an oil and gas business started by her grandfather.
