When it forgets to rain, livestock producers have all the trouble they need. When a rancher loses livestock to poisonous plants during a drought, it only serves to compound the economic hardships he or she is dealing with due to increased supplementation costs and decreased stocking rates. Drought, however, is when toxic plants deliver their largest impact.
