Welcome to our newest faculty in the Center
9/20/2013: The Water Center would like to recognize its newest faculty members: Drs. Jody Campiche and Gina Peek. Dr. Campiche specializes in farm policy analysis and education. Dr. Peek is an assistant professor in the OSU College of Human Sciences, helping to educate target audiences how maintain their built and near environment; this includes teaching consumers to manage household water most efficiently.
New layout design for water.okstate.edu.
9/17/2013: water.okstate.edu has a great, new look. This new layout meets the new design requirements of OSU. It also simplifies the navigation menu. If you're not sure where to find a specific page, just hover your pointer over any menu item and you'll see its contents. Also remember, there's always the search box.
New categories mean less "waste"-d time
8/5/2013: The projects and extension materials listed on the "Waste and Nutrient Management" page have been categorized by audience, making it easier to find topical information more quickly.

8/1/2013: ODAFF is accepting applications for Oklahoma’s Water Quality Forester position until August 7th.
New video on Homepage
7/29/2013: A new video highlight is on the homepage. Extension turf grass specialist, Justin Moss, talks about smart irrigation in the landscape and Robert Reaves from Davis Pipe & Supply joins Oklahoma Gardening to talk about selecting water-saving irrigation equipment.
New Job Posted
7/17/2013: The Department of Biology at Texas State University invites applications for a stream ecologist. The position is tenure-track at the rank of assistant professor. More information is posted on our Employment Opps page.
7/17/2013: Gulf Coastal Plains & Ozarks LCC is soliciting proposals that address high priority knowledge gaps identified in its Integrated Science Agenda.
Water Lines
7/17/2013: There is a new page hosting our collection of timely, topical articles concerning water issues in Oklahoma and surrounding states. Articles are published monthly by Water Center staff and faculty.
In-Service Trainings
6/14/2013: A new page is available under "Extension & Education" to link visitors to presentations given during Water Center in-service trainings. Currently, two training sessions (January and April 2013) cover "Water Planning" and "Hydraulic Fracturing." A link to in-service training opps in OCES is also available on this page.
Welcome Elaine Stebler!
4/8/2013: The Water Center has recruited a new contact! Elaine Stebler researches impacts of run-off and erosion on water quality. She also quantifies rainfall interception and stem flow of Eastern redcedar.

News & Events
4/3/2013: 1.] A new "In the Spotlight" video is on the homepage. In it, Dr. Jason Vogel discusses the many beneficial functions of a wetland. 2.] An Oklahoma Watch article titled "If Water Shortage Worsens, Will Oklahomans Conserve?" was posted. 3.] Info for the May meeting of the Oklahoma Water Quantity Forum was posted. The topic of the meeting will be the expanded monitoring programs at the Water Board and the Conservation Commission.
Automating Greenhouse Irrigation
4/2/2013: A video passed along by Dr. Lou Anella was added. This 3/14/2011 YouTube video describes how to automate greenhouse irrigation using a tensiometer and drip irrigation.
Drought Probability
4/2/2013: A news item (and link on Drought and Plant-Available Water pages) was added: "Dr. Ochsner and co-authors use soil water deficits to create a 'calendar' of seasonal drought patterns." This news release was written by Madeline Fisher in January 2013. Better late than never...
