Agricultural Experiment Stations

Our mission is to conduct fundamental and applied research for the purpose of developing new knowledge that will lead to technology improvements addressing the needs of the people of Oklahoma. 

Hydraulic Engineering Research Unit

The Hydraulic Engineering Research Unit has a one of a kind facility and outstanding staff who conduct research on large scale physical models of hydraulic structures for flood control, grade stabilization, sediment control, and runoff measurement.

Oklahoma Mesonet

The Oklahoma Mesonet consists of over 110 automated environmental monitoring stations covering Oklahoma. These stations record environmental measurements every 5 minutes, 24 hours per day year-round. These measurements are then transmitted to a central facility and made available to the public

Soil, Water and Forage Analytical Laboratory

The Soil, Water and Forage Analytical Laboratory provides valuable information that helps citizens protect and utilize their soil, water, animal manure, and forage resources efficiently and effectively.

Oklahoma farmers and ranchers can call on the IFMAPS program to receive free, confidential assistance in farm business planning.

Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service

Oklahoma Cooperative Extension county offices enhance DASNR's commitment to Oklahoma communities, where county based Extension educators work side-by-side with residents to address local issues and concerns.

Oklahoma's Master Gardener Program

Master Gardener Program is a volunteer training program conducted by University Extension designed to help county extension centers meet the demands for consumer horticulture information.

OSU Botanic Garden

In addition to beautiful and water-wise plantings, the OSU Botanic Garden has several demonstartion sites including an Onsite Wastewater Treatment System, a Mesonet station, and Low Impact Development installations.

Pesticide Disposal

Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry is funding a yearly program to collect and properly dispose of unwanted pesticides that farmers, commercial applicators, or dealers have.

The Oklahoma City Utilities Department has partnered with the OSU Extension Service and the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture to promote conservation through proper outdoor watering and drought-tolerant landscaping.
