Water Research Mentorship Program 2024-25

Oklahoma EPSCOR Water Research Mentorship Program is now accepting applications for mentors and mentees for the 2024-2025 academic year!
We successfully launched the Water Research Mentorship pilot program in the Spring
2024 Semester. After collecting feedback from our pilot cohort, we decided to make
one major change to the program--it will be spread over the academic year (October-May).
This is the general application form for anyone who wishes to participate (mentors
and mentees). Ideal candidates are currently engaged in water research in Oklahoma
or interested in getting involved and learning more about water research in our state.
We seek participants at various levels, including high school students, undergraduates,
grad students, postdocs, and faculty.
Each month will focus on a different professional development topic with guest presenters
in large group meetings and group activities for small group meetings. The program will run October 2024 - May 2025 with approximately one larger group meeting
each month on Wednesdays over the lunch hour. If you are unable to attend this meeting,
you can get relevant resources related to the topic to review independently. Then
as a smaller mentorship group, you will coordinate to meet afterwards to discuss the
month's topic. Mentorship groups can choose any day/time that works for them to complete
the topic's activity. All meetings will be held over Zoom, with exception to the in
person gatherings held once each semester (date/time/location TBD).
