Title: The State of the Dam

 

Speaker: Dr. David Williams is the Chief, Engineering Division, USACE Tulsa District. He is responsible for the design and execution of civil works and military infrastructure projects assigned to the Tulsa District. Additionally, he serves as the Tulsa District Dam Safety Officer (DSO), Levee Safety Officer (LSO), and Building Official. Dr. Williams is a CIVE alumnus (MS ’04, Ph.D., ’07) and an adjunct instructor both

in MAE and in the Environmental Science Graduate Program (ESGP).

 

Abstract: This seminar will provide an overview of major water infrastructure projects led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District—including the Keystone Dam Safety Modification Study and the Tulsa–West Tulsa Levee Rehabilitation. Dr. David Williams will discuss ongoing design and construction efforts to reduce flood risk, improve structural resilience, and ensure long-term safety of critical civil works systems in the region.
